Thoughts on Galatians 2:20

Galatians 2:20
King James Version
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

For I am crucified with Christ for Him to live I have to die. It is hard to understand and wrap our minds around that, but it takes me to Jesus hanging on the cross. The very people that He stepped out to help put Him there and yet Jesus loved them. He even said “Father if this cup could pass from me”, but yet he still accepted the nails. How could anyone do that? How could you have that much strength and love?

The answer is in 1 John 4:4

1 John 4:4
King James Version
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.

It was the power of God. His spirit in Jesus that overcame all the world through Him, so He could do the FATHERS will, not His own. Giving His Life completely over to Him. What God is asking of you He will give you the strength to do, if you allow God to arise and crucify the flesh. It is freeing, it is healing and the blessing of peace that truly passes all understanding is so amazing. Jesus couldn't do it on His own ,so why do we think we can? Jesus’ freedom came when He gave it all up in that moment to God and He was glorified. We quickly complain about what God wants or want to push it on someone else because it is too much for us. What would have happened if Jesus did that? Where would we be? He allowed God, His spirit to arise and walk the life before Him and now He sits at the right hand of the Father. I encourage everyone… let us be crucified and put ourself away so that the Father may be glorified in us.
